Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Clerkenwell
Man with Van Clerkenwell is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It applies to all staff, contractors, and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Man with Van Clerkenwell.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We have a clear, unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We recognise that the transport, logistics, and removals sectors can be exposed to risks, particularly through subcontracting and the use of temporary or agency labour. We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation that is involved in, or benefits from, modern slavery in any form.
All employees and contractors are expected to act with integrity and in line with our values. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may lead to disciplinary action, contract termination, or referral to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Clerkenwell provides local and regional moving, transport, and related services. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, and labour or subcontracted service providers. We aim to build long-term, transparent relationships with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct and respect for human rights.
When engaging new suppliers or subcontractors, we consider their approach to labour standards, working conditions, and compliance with applicable legislation relating to modern slavery. We seek to work collaboratively with suppliers to identify and address any risks, while reserving the right to cease working with parties who are unwilling or unable to meet our standards.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are implementing a risk-based approach to supplier due diligence to help identify potential modern slavery risks in our supply chain. This includes assessing the type of services provided, the location of operations, and the use of subcontracted or temporary labour. Suppliers identified as higher risk may be subject to additional checks and monitoring.
Where appropriate, we may conduct supplier audits or request evidence of policies, procedures, and training relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with any such review. If concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within a reasonable timeframe. Where serious or persistent issues remain unresolved, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised in confidence with a line manager, a senior manager, or through any internal reporting mechanism made available by Man with Van Clerkenwell.
No one who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any detrimental treatment as a result. We are committed to investigating all reports promptly, fairly, and sensitively, and to taking appropriate action where wrongdoing is identified. This may include working with authorities, revising internal controls, or changing supplier relationships.
Training and Awareness
We recognise the importance of awareness and training in preventing modern slavery. We seek to ensure that relevant staff, in particular those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, understand the key indicators of modern slavery risks and know how to respond to concerns.
We are committed to keeping our guidance under review and to improving it as our understanding of best practice develops. Information about our zero-tolerance stance and reporting expectations is communicated to employees and, where relevant, to key suppliers and subcontractors.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continually improving our approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks. This includes monitoring legal developments, industry guidance, and emerging good practice relevant to our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the management of Man with Van Clerkenwell. As part of this review, we assess the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence processes, and reporting channels, and identify any areas where we can strengthen our controls or engagement with suppliers. Updated versions of this statement will reflect any significant changes to our risk assessments, policies, or procedures.
By issuing this statement, Man with Van Clerkenwell confirms its ongoing commitment to helping eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking and to conducting business in a way that respects the dignity and rights of every individual.
